Always I’ve been fascinated by art and handcraft from the Renaissance and Baroque.
A visual expression of knowledge.
Science and philosophy manifested in art as shapes, colors and sounds.

WHY CUSTOM MADE INSTRUMENTS?

A custom-made instrument sometimes makes the decisive subtle difference possible: from imitation to authentic, from excellence to unforgettable, from silver to gold..

HOW?

Basing us primarily on your bowing technique, further your sound ideas and taste and your physical constitution, we decide on specific design, creating so (as if by itself) an instrument that opens up naturally new technical and expressive possibilities for you.
Historically, before the Classical period, the majority of antique instruments, like other works of art, were “custom made”. They were ordered from the artist.

“Matthias Kayssler’s Kochanski/Saade violin has an “old” sound that is comparable to high-level violins such as Guarneri or Stradivari. With the Kochanski/Saade violin you are sure that you will be heard until the last row, without a doubt, it is the ideal violin to play as a soloist in any concert hall in the world.

This makes the Difference?

I believe that this is one of the essential differences between the 16th to 18th century to later instruments: they are designed for a specific person and not for an undefined number of people.

Legacy

Each of our instruments is based on the same concepts as those of the old Italian masters. We find these concepts widely described (recently discovered by Dmitry Badiarov) in ancient writings by Vitruvio a.C. to Mersenne and Nassario and Cennini in the 17th and 18th centuries.
